My First Gerard Cosmetics Order swatches and reviews

Hello all you beauty lovers I hope you are all doing well, today's blog is about my first Gerard Cosmetics order and whether I thought it was worth the hype, if you didn't already know my favorite makeup product is lip products, I am literally obsessed with lipsticks and have enough to last me a lifetime (but for some reason i keep buying more lol). however a few weeks ago i was scrolling down Depop (online app which is like eBay) and i saw that someone had listed a coupon code for Gerard cosmetics. I have always wanted to try their lip products after hearing some many youtubers rave on about how amazing their products are such as shaaanxo and Jacklyn hill, so i decided to make the plunge and order from them. The coupon code that i was given was "thankyou" which was 50% off all item in your cart, after adding two lipstick to my cart i decided that was enough as i didn't want to have to pay a custom charge as Gerard cosmetics in based within the US. And then to my surprise when i whet to pay for my lipsticks i also received free shipping and handling as it was new years (yay). I couldn't believe it my order came to $19 dollars including shipping which converted to roughly 12.88. so lipstick obsessed me order two more lipsticks.

I was so excited to receive my items, until i checked my bank the following day and realised that Gerard cosmetics had taken the money out of my bank twice, i contacted them immediately as to which i was surprised how fast their customers services were and I was refunded within a few hours. I only had to wait 4 days to receive my order of two lipsticks which are in the shade Fire Engine and Tequila sunrise.

I love the gold the packaging and the fact that they kind of look like limited edition mac lipsticks (lol). however i wasn't too fond of the smell, which smelt like oranges and cheap plastic, however the pigmentation and unique colours made up for the smell.

Then another week later I received a letter through my door from Royal mail claiming they had my Gerard Cosmetics order but couldn't deliver it as I had a custom charge of 12.88 to pay, I was so angry as I had ordered separately to ensure my order was under the £15 threshold, which I tried to explain to the man at royal mail who told me it wasn't anything to do with royal mail and that I got charged because Gerard cosmetics never paid it, but i wanted my lipsticks so bad so I paid the charge. When i got home I opened my lipsticks, Buttercup and All Dolled Up to find that Buttercup had faulty packaging and All Dolled Up had marks and dents.

I immediately emailed Gerard Cosmetics twice about the custom charges and about the faulty lipstick, i received an email straight away about the faulty lipstick, they said they would send a replacement straight away, which i was so pleased about as it is my favorite colour out of the four i ordered. however I never received an email about customs till 3 days later which they claimed it was nothing to do with them and there was no way of getting my money back.

Therefore even though I love the colours and pigmentation of the lipstick, even the way that they apply, it literally goes on like butter. I feel that this lipsticks compare to MAC's cremesheen which is definitely one of my favorite finishes other than matte. Fire Engine is a beautiful true red which is similar to Mac Russian Red, Tequila Sunrise is a peachy pink which is close to MAC Coral Bliss, All Dolled Up is a bright barbie pink which is similar to MAC Candy Yum Yum and the last colour Buttercup which is my favorite colour is a beautiful nude with a hint of pink which is in between MAC Hue and Myth, I think this nude would look so nice on all skin tones and would pair nicely with any makeup look, however it doesn't last on the lips very well and I find myself applying it very often and when wearing off it becomes patchy.

I am 100% sure (okay 98%, as i really do want to try 1995 hands over eyes emoji) that i will not be ordering from them again. I just feel that it is too much effort and time over four lipsticks and i have never had this problem when order MAC lipsticks, even order other makeup items from america which I do quite often. Therefore if I never received the problems that I did and I based it on the lipsticks only i would defiantly recommend as I think the lipsticks are amazing and worth the hype lol and you should try them out.
